    Gulangyu Island

    The Gulangyu Island, surrounded by turquoise blue waters, covers an area of 1.87 square kilometers. Gulangyu Island is an act of nature with beautiful island landscapes, the rocky jagged mountains, the winding shoreline, and the pinnacle wins mountain range. Its main scenic spots are Sunlight Rock, Shuzhuang Garden, Haoyue Garden, which are all famous scenery of Xiamen.

  • Nanputuo Temple

    Nanputuo Temple

    Founded in the Tang dynasty and rebuilt in 1684 during the reign of the Qing Dynasty’s Emperor Kangxi, this well-known temple was named after the famous temple on Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang Province.This temple was built into the mountainside, and includes the South Fujian Buddhist Academy. Founded in 1925, it is the first of its kind in China. Nanputuo temple receives numerous visitors year round.

  • Hulishan Fort

    Hulishan Fort

    Hulishan Fort was built in 1894, and covers more than 70,000 square meters. Located at the Hulishan seashore, on the southern tip of Xiamen Island, the entire Fort is of a bunker-shape and combines European and Chinese styles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The 13.13m, 50 ton cannon was purchased from the German Krupp arsenal. It can be rotated 360 degrees, has an effective range of 16,000 meters. According to the “2000 Guinness World Record Book,” it is the oldest cannon of the nineteenth-century.
